How are you Spiritually?
I'm in awe at how rare a question this is to ask. I realized today, while on the phone with Lois, how rare it is that someone asks you how you're doing spiritually? As Christians, shouldn't we care a little more about each other in that sense?
I miss hearing Lois'wisdom. When I speak with her, I feel like I can really question how my faith is doing and how I could do better. I get so swept away by everyday things that I don't even ask myself how I am doing with God. So, today, I plan on making it a point to ask myself how I'm doing spritually everday and someone else when I feel it's important. This is a question that shouldn't go unasked or unanswered. We need to be able to know and confess where we are, why, and how. Does this make sense?
Anyway, just figured I'd share Lois's wisdom with the ones who aren't blessed by her presence. I just found out that Lois will not be in town this weekend when I come. I'm very unhappy to hear this, but she has other important things to attend to.
Oh and I'll be in Baytown the day after the day after tomorrow! Good day and God bless!

It's all connected. Physical, emotional, spiritual. Our temptation is to elevate the spiritual and tear it away from the other as if the body were something simply to discard and ignore. But, we don't even give much thought to our everyday ordinary spirituality so that is why we ask such a question. To say I'm fine when someone asks how we're doing, we often don't even give much consideration to the totality of our lives. I think we reflect (if we even do that) on what's going on in that very moment.
So, next time I ask you how you're doing, tell me more than good, bad, fine, well... because I mean so much more than what might be seen on the surface.
You had better give us a call when you get into town. Come by the house or something.
I've got b-day presents for Aurora from Lois and me! And some other stuff, too!
